Building on the Pimpama Water Treatment and Recycling Plant continues and though an official date has not yet been released, it is believed that the plant may be completed by the end of 2008, and recycled water will be available to the community by the end of the following year. Once this recycled water is available to residents, they will be able to utilize this precious resource for doing things that were once a thing of the past, such as washing the car in the drive, or rinsing the salt off the boat on the pontoon after a day out on the Broadwater.
Residents at Calypso Bay will enjoy the benefits of having Gold Coast City Council mains pressure water for drinking and washing, recycled water for toilet flushing and outside irrigation systems, and tank water for back-up. This recycled water project will in time, prove to be another major selling point and attraction for living at Calypso Bay, as water increasingly becomes a more precious resource.
